I'm so dizzy, my head is spinning

Have you noticed I've been missing in action?

Make that inaction.

I've been to the doctor.

My ear hurts. I mean really hurts.

I feel dizzy.

And deaf.

I have an ear infection, and a perforated ear drum and vertigo as a result.

I feel decidedly...

...unbalanced.

General functioning has rather gone by the wayside, with lovely friends doing the school run for me, and OH doing breakfast, packed lunches, tea, shopping, and taking care of Littlest's skin care regime.

The washing, ironing, tidying, hoovering, cleaning, etc etc, has remained undone and is quietly accumulating...

Bear with me, darling blog buddies (and thanks to those who got in touch wondering where I'd got to), I will be round to your blogs to catch up as soon as humanly possible.

I miss you!

I miss YOU!!!! That's a really nasty, lingering bug you've got there - you poor thing, I wish I could feed you what The Phoenix calls my Magic Soup. It's a vegetable soup (very chunky) with a bulb of garlic in it ... yes, that would be around 12 cloves of garlic ... and that is the magical secret. It would have you at least sitting up and feeling like there's hope of crashing through the wall of snot and pain. Thank god there are some people helping out with the school run and hubby is there for you. Vertigo is so horrible! Please continue to let others help you by allowing you plenty of rest and even more importantly, to allow you time to recuperate. Sending you plenty of big hugs:)). Desiree xoxoxoxoxo

Blimey love, take it easy. I agree with Desiree...get the garlic down yer. It is the time of year for bugs and general ghastliness. Just put for feet up and forget the housework.

So sorry you are not well. I know how awful vertigo feels. Just stay still, everything will wait for you, yeah all that housework too unfortunately. We all miss you and wait to see your first lively comment after you are A-1 shape again.

ooooohhh..you poor thing. Such a bummer! I've been semi out of commission lately due to a pinched nerve in my back so I KNOW how frustrating it is to watch the home front slowly fall apart! Augh! We must get you back on the level ASAP! Sending you all sorts of good vibrations and a big healthy air hug.

Definitely noticed, and missing you! SO glad you've got wonderful helpers while you're out of commission. Your humour still shines through despite it all - great post, really sorry for the subject matter! xoxo dear Curtise!

What you need is a portion of the Spicy Bean and Sausage stew I've just made, that would make you feel better. Instead you'll have to manage with a virtual hug and my very best wishes for a speedy recovery. In the meantime, rest and don't worry about the housework, it's not the end of the world.

Yes I'd noticed! I hope Dr Nookey prescribed you something helpful! You poor thing. My sister had a very similar thing and was out of action for ages. Just take it easy and let people help you. Make the most of everyone spoiling you and don't worry about getting around to our blogs. just feel better xxxxxx

I really hope Fatherless Fanny cheered you up a little! I've missed having you around but luckily I can now pester you by text. I like your choice of photos. I love Carry On Again Doctor. Get well very soon, I remember how bad a perforated tympanic membrane as it's called at work can be. Many hugs. I'll send you some more stuff to cheer you up!

Oh No! I was thinking your flu symptoms must have been getting worse since you've been missing for so long. I had the inner ear thing in the Spring this year and it made me fall down out on the street one day. Hopefully the antibiotics will clear it up soon and you'll be back to your fabulous self very soon! And yes, if you remember real hard BEFORE you got sick, you ARE FABULOUS. Okay, you are most likely even fabulous when you're ill too!!

Ooh vertigo sounds horrible, I hope you're feeling a bit better now. It's good that at least people are helping out but it is horrible watching everything deteriorate around you and not be able to do anything about it. Hope you get well very soon. xx

You have been missed!!! My scenario about why wasn't quite what reality turned out to be... I'm surprised that your doctor couldn't cure your pasty complexion!!

I'm glad your loved ones are giving you care. I wish I had the magic cure - a good hot bowl of miso soup always comforts, but the garlic sounds yummy. Soon I hope you will will up and twirling with madness and joy, rather than dizziness and earaches!!

Huge hugs, a nice tuck of your covers, and a peck on the forehead, dear Curtise.

Nope. Never noticed. But i did find myself posing in the mirror in a manner that i never have before, so perhaps I yearned for your posts subconsciously. ;)
The picture with Saturn for a head looks like it might be Melanie Bag and a Beret.
I do sympathize, i believe vertigo is shockingly bad.
Russell Crow sends you big sexy hugs and wishes you better real soon.

I had been missing you! I am so sorry to hear you've been unwell - Rich and I are both pretty miserable this weekend too, but I think its just a change of season bug. I'm sorry to hear about the dizzy-ness, ear infection and everything else. I hope you'll be better very, very soon!

Bummer! Get well. It sucks to be sick.

It looks like the Street of Broken Trees around, and I am very thankful nobody was hurt.

Not good Curtise you poor young thing. And I know, on Annabels' 12th birthday I was feeling really, really rotten - thought I was coming down with the flu. As the day progressed, one of my ears started to hurt so much (child birth a breeze compared to the pain!) that if I had a gun I would've put it to my head and pullled the trigger! Later that evening I discovered blood dripping from my ear - yep just like yours, my ear drum had perforated. Anyway this is meant to be about you not me, so I'll shut up. But I really do feel your pain Curtise, take care, DO NOT worry about cleaning the house and get better v.soon! x

My GOD!!! If I detest something more than anything in this world... IT IS VERTIGO! I got it really really bad. So bad to the point that I constantly felt I was moving... even if I was perfectly still. It felt like I was laying in a boat in the middle of the damn ocean. *uhgggg!!!*
Don't worry about your house or anything just make sure to take it easy and get yourself better. Eat lots of fruit (Apparently that helps) I don't know if it for sure does but that's what I was told so I did it. *haha*

Yes, I had noticed but just thought you were taking a break. Inner ear infection---ouch. I feel for you- horrid thing it is. Just forget the housework, let's face it , it isn't going anywhere and your health is more important. So Dr Bonsaimum says rest, rest and more rest. You are lucky you have such good friends to help you.

Yeesh, poor you, that sounds grim. But definitely don't think about the house. I say MALINGER, even once you feel better. Can you stand to watch DVDs? Have you joined LoveFilm? I've done almost nothing but watch crap films since the husband's been away. And I still have another week til he gets home. Hope you're on the mend soon xxx

Sorry to hear about your health trouble! Are you still in pain? I hope you get well soon!

It's just typical that when you're ill, so many things become invisible - the laundry, the dust, the ironing? It's like Harry Potter was there with his magic wand and all the boring chores have vanished into thin air!

You poor love, I knew something was afoot, it's so unlike you to be missing in action for more than a couple of days!!! Hope you feel a million times better and that you wore undies like Babs did to see the Doc, it would have made his career!
Hoorah for great friends and a brilliant partner, times that those makes you appreciate how good your nearest and dearest are! xxxxx

Curtise, I DID miss you, but figured you were very busy. I am so sorry to hear about the ear infection. Having been viciously attacked by viral labyrinthitis myself several times after age 40 (another joy of middle age), I've been exactly where you are - so dizzy that I had to crawl on hands and knees for several days just to get from bed to loo. Ugh. I hope you fully recover soon, but sounds like loving family and friends are keeping things going while you are on the mend. The miracle drug here in the USA for dizziness and vertigo is meclizine; hope they are giving you some good stuff. I do miss you!

That's really grim Curtise, I do hope you feel better soon. I echo Desiree's advice, garlic, plenty of rest, and continue to let the others help out. Oh, and when you are feeling a bit better, don't rush to catch up on the housework or you'll be back to square one (I know about this!)
Take care of yourself

Ah honey, Vix told me you were feeling like shit. I'm sorry that sounds pretty stinking awful. You have been sorely missed Curtise, talked about and hopefully doted on. Even feeling like complete crap your wit and sassiness shine through.

Oh what did we do before you dear. I miss you and wuv you to pieces. Continue to take it easy, we will be here when you are feeling better, I promise. I'd send Peetee over for a cuddle but I know you'd prefer Ash.

I had noticed it had been a while since you posted and assumed you were still dealing with the home infection. So sorry that you're ill (although it obviously hasn't affected your saucy sense of humour). Ear infections are terrible; I had them alot when I was a kid. Hope the drugs kick in soon and you are right as rain soon! Don't worry about the housework - sounds like you've got people covering the basics.

Poor you Curtise! Such a beautiful blog post even when you've been struck down with Les Germs. Would have liked to have seen what you wear when reclining on the chaise longue in an attitude of suffering but perhaps it really is the Babs undies - in which case perhaps not! Hope you feel better soon, Vicky x

I don't know what to say other than I'm sorry that you are having such a rough time with sick kids and now your ear issue. What is going on over there? I see that you have not lost your sense of humor although your hearing is lost. It must be so painful. Whenever I get sick I start to think about how people who are chronically ill deal with it. Or how parents of sick kids get along. I copied that photo of the woman with her bum caught up in the dryer. I wanna show it to my husband...so funny. Oh, and a skeeter is a mosquito. Gotta skeeter on my peter. I hope you know what I mean by peter...or should I just go ahead and tell ya? Penis! Feel better lady! dawn suitcase vignettes p.s. that cat on the purse is too adorable.

well, I might have noticed you were away if I was more diligent in blog land myself. Damn, Curtise, that sounds awful. Since the kids came along, I've caught MOST of their bugs. It is unpleasant to say the least. I guess you weren't wearing sparkly red pasties to the doctor like the lady above?
